Principal is a collection of city-centre hotels based in landmark buildings in exceptional locations. Each of the hotels has a story to tell - of its history, its characters, its architecture and its role in shaping the city.

The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square is one of several smart addresses on a UNESCO World Heritage site. Having recently been refurbished, there are 199 guest rooms, a spa, a new dining and event space; The Garden, a glazed courtyard serving a light menu of all-day food and evening cocktails; as well as Baba, a Levantine-influenced restaurant from the team behind Glasgow’s Ox and Finch restaurant.

The Principal Edinburgh George Street is made up of the original, listed Georgian townhouses that form the heart of this elegant hotel, but provide all the comfort and convenience of modern travel. The Printing Press, champions fresh, seasonal, Scottish produce, whilst Burr & Co. is a lovely little coffee shop. At the heart of the M&E portfolio, is the grand King’s Hall.

The Principal London will open early 2018 following a multi-million pound refurbishment. Originally opened in 1898 by the Frederick Hotels Company, The Principal London is a listed, landmark ‘grande dame’ that occupies the eastern flank of Russell Square in Bloomsbury. The Principal London will combine the rich heritage of the original hotel with modern touches, vibrant bars and buzzing restaurants.

Originally built as the headquarters of the Refuge Assurance Company, The Principal Manchester is now a Grade-II listed 270 bed hotel with the largest, most spectacular hotel events space in the North of England.
