Are you an experienced Buyer looking for an opportunity to step into an instrumental category combining both branded and own brand labels?
 
We have an amazing opportunity within the Healthcare team for a Buyer. The healthcare market is hugely important to our customers and even more so given the current climate we are all living in today.

Our categories have a mixture of well-known brands and a developed Own label presence. It is a highly competitive market with the discounters ever growing in this category. However, Asda are the only grocer with fully owned healthcare assets - we currently have 254 Pharmacies, 156 Optical sites and a full aisle presence in all stores.

The Role

The buyer for this role will be responsible for buying key areas such as Vitamins and sports ranges and managing some weekly admin such as Pricing & Promotion management.  You would be working with some of the biggest brands such as Vitabiotics and Grenade as well as small suppliers with innovative products.  The category has over 1000 sku's and requires careful JBP management, range building and an eye for product as there is a constant flow of innovation in the market.

You will need to have a natural ability to negotiate with big brands, collaborate and nurture smaller suppliers, the desire to drive Own brand growth, have the ability to multi-task, forward plan and work cross functionally. As part of your role, you will develop and execute strategies to deliver sales, profit, and market share growth.

You will be responsible for building a range and pricing strategy to deliver shopper needs and lead on price competitiveness and you will lead suppliers to improve OL quality, innovation and sales participation. You will be required to deliver JBPs to grow branded market share and profitability and you will engage cross functionally to align all stakeholders in delivery of the your plans.
