The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a leading international conservation, science and education charity. Role Profile

ZSL is seeking a part-time Administrator within our Institute of Zoology (IoZ). This is a key role within the IoZ, with responsibilities to include reception cover, data input and administrative support to Science Operations Manager research staff, students, interns and registered visitors. To manage the Health, Safety and Security administrative systems in line with ZSL policies and procedures, and cover for the PA to the Director of Science during times of absence.

Reporting directly to the Science Operations Manager, this key position requires a highly reliable, resilient and proactive individual who has the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure and build strong relationships with a range of key stakeholders. This is a fantastic position for an individual looking for employment in an international organisation. You will have exposure to a variety of departments. Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of working in administration or a visitor care role.
  • Experience of sourcing, analysing and communicating information effectively
  • Good IT skills, with a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Previous experience assisting with invoices, expenses, VAT, receipt.
  • An understanding of workplace health & safety issues and risk assessment (desirable but not essential).

Please note: Please note this is a part-time, permanent position based at the Institute of Zoology in Regents Park. Working hours will generally be 10am – 2:00pm (Monday – Friday).
